Ingredients for making Filet with Madeira Sauce:
4 units of filet mignon in medallions
2 tablespoons of sunflower oil
2 cloves of ground garlic
1 cup fresh rolled mushrooms
1 cup dry red wine or Madeira wine
1 tablespoon of butter
1 meat broth tablet
1 teaspoon of cornstarch (cornstarch)
Black pepper
salt
How to make Filet with Madeira Sauce:
The first step of this recipe for steak in Madeira sauce is to season the meat with garlic, salt and pepper to taste. Then bring to medium heat a frying pan or pan with the oil and, when hot, brown the meat on all sides (including the sides).
When the meat is golden brown, that is, cooked on the outside, reserve it on a plate. Add the butter to the same skillet or pan and sauté the mushrooms until they change color.
Dissolve the cornstarch in the wine and add to the skillet or pan, along with the meat tablet. Keep stirring until the tablet dissolves and the sauce thickens. Taste and, if necessary, add salt and pepper to taste.
Tip: If the sauce is a little thick, dissolve a little more starch in a little water, and add it.
If you like the meat well done, add it to the sauce and cook for another 2-3 minutes. After that, your filet in Madeira sauce is ready to serve! Serve with basmati rice and fries, and bon appetit!
